Introduction

Quinnely Rose is a London-based multidisciplinary artist and designer whose practice explores the relationship between the body and the fold. Working across micropleating, origami-informed construction, wearable sculpture, and material experimentation, they investigate how textiles can adapt to bodies that are constantly changing.

Their practice began as a way of understanding their own body when words felt insufficient. Over time, that personal exploration evolved into a broader investigation of transformation itself: how bodies grow, move, age, heal, and shift throughout life, and how clothing might respond to those changes.

Currently completing an MA in Fashion Futures at London College of Fashion (UAL), Quinnely combines heritage craft with emerging technologies, drawing from biomechanics, biomimicry, and traditional pleating to develop adaptive textile systems. Each project acts as both artwork and research, using the logic of the fold to better understand the geometry of living bodies.

Rather than treating garments as fixed objects, Quinnely sees them as responsive structures. Their work asks how clothing can become more accommodating, more expressive, and more attuned to the people who wear it.
